About

As an interdisciplinary team, Drs. Sabrina Ford, Kelly Hirko and Bree Holtz from Michigan State University have collaborated on multiple grant projects to identify telemedicine opportunities in medically-underserved rural Michigan communities.

Specifically, their current grant funded by the S3 (Science and Society at State) at Michigan State University aims to provide an essential preliminary assessment of telemedicine needs among rural community stakeholders across northern Michigan.

The project seeks to engage multiple northern Michigan community organizations and stakeholders through focus groups, meetings, interviews, and surveys. Engaging the community through existing contacts and by leveraging Michigan State University Extension, the assessment will identify actions needed to implement telemedicine initiatives across Michigan’s rural regions.

The goal of this website is to provide information about our community-centered research agenda, process, and findings.
